I learned from the late Dr. Edwin Louis Cole, author and founder of Christian Mens Network, that "Assumption is the lowest form of knowledge".
Isn't it amazing how often we form opinions based on our assumptions rather than knowing the whole truth? When our hearts are grieved and our minds are vexed, one of the prayers of King David can be of encouragement. "There are many oratorically gifted communicators, who can pontificate with smooth articulation..." It seems more and more that we are living in a land of paradoxes. While we are all the benificiaries of sacrifices made for the foundations laid by which we enjoy the Liberties and Freedoms in our Nation, many would disregard the very roots of those foundations. We are witnessing the human inclination to casually disregard what previous generations have held to be of fundamental importance. Interestingly, there are those who love to tell the church of it's social obligation, while also telling the church to keep silent regarding public issues. Much is shifting in the heavenly and earthly realms this past few days. There is a culmination and collision of spiritual and physical proportions this weekend. We must have a posture of humilty, restore the altars of worship and expectation. We are in a critical window of global impact. September 11, 2001 the whole world was shocked by the pictures of commercial airlines crashing into the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City. Soon after the initial impact, we were subjected to the gruesome sight of people jumping to their deaths from the top floors of the 110-story towers.
But there were also heroes in this tragic story... Christians from the four corners of the world have converged in Los Angeles this
week to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Azusa Street Revival, led by William “Daddy” Seymour, in a movement called by Christian History magazine, “The most phenomenal event of
twentieth-century Christianity.”
